McGee Grantham University CA499-Professional Strategies February 27, 2019 INTERVIEW 2 Introduction The subject is in reference to sales and marketing and promotion of the services of a telecommunications company referred to as Smartex Public Limited Company, henceforth termed as SPLC. The interviewee, Madam Scottie is the Director of the sales and marketing and promotion department of the company. She has a degree in Business Management, a master’s degree in Public Relations and Communication, and is a Certified Professional Accountant. Previously, madam Scottie has worked in the national oil company, a government parastatal, as the head of public relations and customer care. She has experience spanning for a period of about twenty two years and qualified to take the interview with an assurance that the answers given are a true reflection of the current market dynamics and challenges facing the business sector today.
Procedure I first established contact when I read about her qualifications and the great work she was doing in her company through the company website, shortly after she was declared the employee of the year by the multibillion company. I then wrote her an email through her office, requesting for an interview with her, with a strict promise that it was majorly for an academic purpose, to which she agreed upon, and scheduled the interview thereof. The interview took place in her office and it took approximately about forty five minutes The following are the questions that I asked during the interview. a. What drives you towards your goal? b. What is your greatest achievement in your life, in respect to your career? c. What is the greatest challenge that you face in your career? d. Where do you see yourself in the next five years? Running Head: INTERVIEW e. What can you tell the other people outside there, especially the youth regarding their career choices in life? Results In response, Madam Scottie averred that the passion and the zeal she has towards making the society a better place through economic empowerment and providing opportunities for others under her flagship, especially through short term employment contr acts for sales, marketing and promotion of the company products drives her in career. This in turn translates to be her greatest achievement I life, the achievement of empowering others and touching lives. “The greatest challenge we face as a company is unfavorable and ever changing government policies that are ever affecting our way of doing business.” Said madam Scottie. In the next five years, she averred that she sees herself in her own company and encouraged the youth to focus on their goals and not give up. Conclusion The interview helps me with the interview on the premise that I am able to understand and appreciate the dynamics that exist in our Business world and the existing business policies in place and their effects on the way the economy is run.
