For a patient to receive Medicaid or Medicare reimbursement, medical practitioners must comply with the recording and storing the patient’s medical history. In addition, physicians are required to fill in electronic forms showing the patient received care. Therefore, it improves the flow of information between the government and the doctor. Previously, the retrieval of medical records was hectic due to the patient’s files; therefore, it took a long to retrieve critical medical information (Al-Hawamdih et al, 2018).

Health informatics has enabled the retrieval and easy access of patient’s information. The safety and quality of healthcare delivery are achieved since before this technology, patients’ medical records were lost or stolen, thus, posing a risk to the delivery of care. In conclusion, some of the solutions are regular software updates and compatibility, offering training to medical practitioners on the need to safeguard patients’ critical health information.
