1st post (25) Unethical Practices in Policy Making A policy is a conduct though to be desirable, especially as formally expressed by the government or other authoritative body. In a business setting, managers are the overall head obligate to make rules and policies that keep the subordinates focused on the set objectives. However, the decisions made by the manager should be facilitated by the views and the opinions of the stakeholders, who will develop a sense of ownership and be motivated to work once their views are respected. In today’s world, several managers have dismissed ethical leadership qualities and are influenced by a personal interest in influencing others.

The consequences of unethical behavior within the organization include; loss of reputation and resources, dropping of employees, shareholder selling their share, to mention a few. To this end, various aspects may lead the managers to behave unethically. One is corruption, where the managers develop policies that reduce other stakeholders’ shares to increase their own (Greenwood & Freeman, 2011). Besides, the managers may also manipulate the existing policies to allow new members to the organization. The new applicants may be close friends or relatives who are deployed despite their minimum qualifications. From the personal interest perspective, the manager may have an intention of sabotaging the company and therefore manipulating the existing policies to end the company’s reputation.

More this, some managers are overwhelmed with the spirit of quick gratification and tend to form unreasonable policies to navigate a channel for their promotion. To sum up, lack of participation in the organization is the greatest unethical conduct frequently portrayed by leaders whenever they want to push policies for their interest. The result of this is the company’s collapse; therefore, it should be avoided. Reference Greenwood, M., & Freeman, R. E. (2011). Ethics and HRM: The contribution of stakeholder theory. Responed of 1st post : 2nd post (22) Ethics refers to a set of principles and moral rules of behavior that guide human relationships (MerriamWebster Dictionary) Unethical organizational behavior is defined as conduct that is deemed to contravene ethical standards as defined by widely held values, laws, and social conventions rather than by group or organizational norms. However, the behavior is intended to benefit the organization, members of the organization, or both. Employees who intend to help the organization, its members, or both often engage in unethical behavior. (Sawitri. et al.2021) In policy-making, implementation, and evaluation the perceptions of what is ethical and what is not diverse remarkably. (Songklin,2017).

Morality is degraded by corruption, which is unethical behavior. Major and minor frauds are both possible (Maseko, 2017). The goal of fraud is to gain favors. When people are crooked, unfair bargains can prevent deserving people from getting the care they deserve. Corruption results in negative publicity, penalties, criminal charges, extortion, and even block listing, all of which harm the organization’s reputation (Maseko, 2017). As a result, corruption lowers people’s morality and is a vice that can lead to unequal arrangements in which people or businesses obtain unearned benefits.

Unethical behavior has a detrimental impact on the organization. As a result of underachieving, people or firms gain unjustified privileges, which leads to fraud, corruption, and prejudice (Maseko, 2017). References : Maseko, C. (2017).
