Because of the way it was programmed, it helped keep the information of the data true, or with integrity. The data would be put into tables, but would have codes that would ultimately connect one another, which would work together to portray the information that someone would try to retrieve without the information being skewed or distorted.

Initially concocted by Edgar F. Code, this database has increased in the way the variables would show patient information, ultimately becoming a staple in the health information community by eliminating any interference of data being changed by the way that the information was setup within the system to portray to the outside world. The relational model, a simple and obvious means of expressing data in tables, is the foundation of relational databases (“What is a relational database?”, n.d.). Each row in a table in a relational database is a record with a unique ID called the key. The characteristics of the data are stored in the table’s columns, and each record generally contains a value for each attribute, making it simple to construct links between data points. Users may manage preset data relationships across various databases using standard relational databases (Lutkevich & Biscobing, 2021). Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, MySQL, and IBM DB2 are all examples of typical relational databases.References:Lutkevich, B., & Biscobing, J. (2021, June 24). What is a relational database?
