Nursing’s position on reporting illegal conduct

Nursing’s position on reporting illegal conduct

1. Consider your peer responses. Are they similar or different than yours?

2. How often should you review your employer’s position or the board of nursing reporting illegal, unethical or unsafe conduct?

Once I have accepted your bid I will send you the peers to respond too: Both need to be 300 words or more

My work:

The reasons given for not reporting illegal, unethical, or unsafe conduct. The reasons that are listed more frequently
There are various reasons why people fear reporting illegal, unsafe, or unethical conduct. They include fear of repercussions, lack of redress, fear of being treated differently by supervisors and colleagues, fear of not being believed, fear of being labeled “hysterical” and incapable of managing interpersonal conflict (Meidav, 2021). People also avoid reporting unsafe, illegal, or unethical conduct because they feel reporting the unethical behavior means reliving it, fear that reporting the incident may jeopardize any job opportunities in the future for the organization. The reasons listed more frequently include being demoted, losing a job, being alienated from others, and the fear of retaliation.

Board of nursing’s position on reporting illegal, unethical, or unsafe conduct
The board of nursing encourages reporting illegal, unsafe, or unethical conduct among nurses and even patients. The board has the Nursing Practice Act that provides it with authority to examine lawsuits and take disciplinary action on nurses who are unethical (“Board of Registered Nursing’s Enforcement Division,” 2021). The board has an enforcement division responsible for complaint intake, probe, legal action, and monitoring of probation. The board encourages reporting/filing a complaint because that is the only way that it will learn of the purported violations of the Nursing Practice Act. Additionally, nursing board do not want to destroy nursing reputation, it encourages people to report any form of unethical behavior.

What influences my decision regarding reporting illegal, unethical, or unsafe conduct
Having enough facts, weighing if it is worth reporting, understanding how the organization handles unethical, illegal, or unsafe conducts by assessing its ethical culture, and the reporting lines are the factors that influence my decision regarding reporting any form of unethical, illegal, or unsafe conduct.

The advice I would give to a new nurse seeking this information
I would advise a nurse who needs this information that it is essential to practice according to the nursing practice act trying as much as possible to avoid any form of unethical, illegal, or unsafe conduct to her patients or colleagues. Besides, she should know that whenever she has had an encounter with unethical, illegal, or unsafe conduct among her colleagues, she should not hesitate to report them to the nursing board because the complaint is confidential. Nobody will be aware that she is the one who filed it, thus not need to worry about any negative consequences.

ORDER CUSTOM, PLAGIARISM-FREE PAPER

You must proofread your paper. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Papers with numerous misspelled words and grammatical mistakes will be penalized. Read over your paper – in silence and then aloud – before handing it in and make corrections as necessary. Often it is advantageous to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Handwritten corrections are preferable to uncorrected mistakes.

Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface. Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages.

Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.

The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.
