1 STUDY QUESTION PROPOSAL Study Question Proposal Student’s Name Institution STUDY QUESTION PROPOSAL 2 Study Question Proposal Chosen topic and study question “Skin cancer in young women” is the chosen study topic. Why is skin cancer among young women on the rise? Purpose of the research The research study question will be evaluating some of the significant risks and causes of cancer in young women. The purpose of the research is to learn about the significant risks and causes of cancer and learn ways to improve the current treatments. The research also enriches self with new knowledge of new drugs, vaccines, surgeries, and medical devices (Jacobsen, 2017). In general, the research aims to diagnose skin cancer among young women and health-related issues that come along with it. It also aims to reduce the chances of development or recurrence of skin cancer and reduce the rising number of women suffering from skin disease by improving survival (Jacobsen, 2017). Reasons for selecting the topic I selected the topic because of its increasing popularity in the recent past. A higher and rising case of skin cancer has been recorded in younger women in comparison to men. Young women have been said to compose a statistically significant majority of individuals who have skin cancer. Therefore, the topic raised concerns concerning increased incidences of skin cancer among young women in the future and demographic shift to rise in young women representation among individuals with skin cancer (Lomas et al., 2009). Assignment: Skin Cancer
Keywords definition Some of the critical words encountered in my textbook include disease and exposure (Jacobsen, 2017). Disease refers to a particular quality or positioning that is said to be affecting an individual or a group of individuals. Although the term disease is a common word, I found its usage in the study unique. In a case-control study STUDY QUESTION PROPOSAL (p.49), the term disease and exposure have been used synonymously. The aspect of a young woman being vulnerable to skin cancer (exposure) has resulted in rising skin cancer cases among young women. 3 STUDY QUESTION PROPOSAL 4 References Chalkidou, K., Tunis, S., Lopert, R., Rochaix, L., Sawicki, P.
