An EPM works in unison with significant outside help and briefs the Healthcare System Incident Manager on the progress of the internal resources as well as of the mobilized facilities.

This competency is essential as EPMs help in the process of transition at a significant capacity, creating a path for a successful response and recovery process. I believe that these three competencies ensure that an EMPM is capable of recognizing situations that require the activation of the EOP, can assist the facility’s transition from regular activities to response and recovery, and understands enough about the EOP and the facility’s capabilities to develop, implement, and maintain its response.
