Why you chose this article and/or how it relates to the clinical issue of interest (include a brief explanation of the ethics of research related to your clinical topic of interest)

I chose the article by Chi Luong et al. (2016) because it is a peer-reviewed document that has been written based on research that was carried out in the field that my clinical inquiry is focused on. Other scholars reviewed the article to ascertain its relevance and if the study was carried out ethically, hence making it a relevant information source.

I chose this article because it touches on the clinical issue I am inquiring about. And through a systematic review of the report, I will find some enlightening information on the subject. The article is peer-reviewed, which means that the information it contains can depend on as it was written after adequate research was carried out. It had gone through a couple of stages of checking its validity before publication, which is why I chose it. I chose this article by safari et al. (2018) because it is relevant to the clinical issue that I am researching. The article touches on how effective skin to skin contact is between a mother and a preterm baby in the quest to prevent hypothermia, which might cause fatal results on the baby.
Brief description of the aims of the research of each peer-reviewed article This peer-reviewed article aimed to show how effective skin to skin contact between the mother and their preterm babies is in stabilizing their low temperatures and preventing hypothermia, which might cause the infant’s death. This peer-reviewed article aimed to show the intervention that medical practitioners can undertake to prevent and stabilize neonatal hypothermia in preterm and low weight infants to avoid death. This article aimed to show the effectiveness of the Kangaroo mother type of care in ensuring that the preterm or low weight infants temperature stabilize after their birth to prevent fetal effects of hypothermia, This article aimed to show the effectiveness of skin to skin contact between mothers and newborns in preventing hypothermia that might cause loss of life for preterm or low weight babies.
Brief description of the research methodology used Be sure to identify if the method used was qualitative quantitative , or mixed-methods . Be specific. The research that was carried out, which resulted in the data used in writing this article, used qualitative type of research where it included 100 participants where half of the participating preterm infants were placed under routine care and the rest on the skin-to-skin approach. The participants were regularly monitored. At the end of the research, those placed under the skin-to-skin approach showed better results in stabilizing their temperatures than those under routine care.

In this article, the researchers used the Cochrane neonatal research method that consisted of mixed research methodologies in collecting data about the subject. The research was carried out using trials where participants were subjected to routine care and others to the skin to the skin type of care to determine the effectiveness of KMC and SSC. The methodology used can be qualitative as the participants were monitored and the data recorded and analyzed; it was a case study type of research. The methodology used in this research is qualitative as the subjects were subjected to different trials and monitored.
A brief description of the strengths of each of the research methodologies used, including reliability and validity of how the methodology was applied in each of the peer-reviewed articles you selected. The strengths of this research are that it used a real-time data collection approach from monitoring the participants, which make the article more reliable and valid in the sense that the researchers carried out the research using a broad sample of participants and did not depend on only a few individuals experience or secondary data. The article was written after research using the Cochrane neonatal methodology, which consists of several data collection methods and analysis methods. The type of research methodology carried out in this article makes it valid and reliable as it was based on actual research that gave real-time conclusions. The research was carried out using trials and real-time observation of the participants, giving realistic results and data, making it relevant and valid. The research used a large sample of monitored participants for the researchers to conclude, which is an effective method in stabilizing neonatal hypothermia. The fact that it used first-hand data and information makes it valid compared to those dependent on secondary data.
General Notes/Comments

After reading the article, I broadened my mind and offered enough knowledge that I needed on the clinical issue I was inquiring about.
