Benchmark Assignment: Theology of Missions This assignment presupposes that mission theology is integral to theology as a whole and that Scripture, as God’s revelation, is at the foundation of developing a sound and biblically faithful theology of mission. In 1,500-2,000 words, establish a personal theology of missions based on key biblical passages and include the following: 1. Introduction that connects the importance of Scripture as the basis for a faithful theology, the importance of contextualization, and the identified guiding theme and motifs 2. Analysis of the particular scriptures within their context that form the basis of your theology of missions 3. Identification of the guiding theme and the connection to your theology of missions 4. Identification of 4-5 mission motifs and explain how they complement the guiding theme 5. Statement that postulates how contextualization of the Gospel in culturally diverse situations might be achieved through this theology of mission (this is in lieu of a conclusion) Use feedback from biblical and historical assignments, as well as 3-5 scholarly resources including references from past studies on the doctrines of revelation, humanity, salvation, and the church among others. Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.
