Strategies for Addressing Questions

In Week 1 you began building a foundation for your success by considering a network; individuals and teams that can help you to clarify and execute on the vision. A network is most helpful when you are comfortable asking questions. Chances are other members of your network have experienced similar questions and may have helped guide others toward resolutions that can be helpful now.

In this Discussion, focus on the questions you are ready to ask as your journey begins. Keep in mind that sharing questions is often a great way to help others who have similar questions—even if they do not realize it!

To Prepare:

  • Reflect on questions or concerns you might have as you begin the MSN program.
  • Consider the individuals, teams, and departments you previously considered in Week 1 and how they may provide support to address these questions and concerns.

BY DAY 3

Post any questions or concerns that you are willing to share with the group. The Discussion Board represents an opportunity to network with your course colleagues, and others may have the same questions or concerns. Then, identify potential individuals, teams, or departments within Walden or your network that you can turn to for assistance in answering these questions and/or concerns.

Support main post with 3 of more current, credible sources and cite source within content of posting and on a reference list in proper APA. Week 1 Strategies for Addressing Nursing Questions.

BY DAY 6

Respond to at least two of your colleagues’ posts by offering a possible resolution to their question/concern with supporting documentation, if possible, or expanding on their thinking and providing an example as support.

Be sure to offer support from at least 2 current, credible sources in each required response to classmates’ main post and cite per APA.

NURS 6003: Transition to Graduate Study for Nursing Academic and Professional Success Plan Template Prepared by: Olufisayo omobo Week 1 | Part 1: My Academic and Professional Network NETWORK MEMBER 1 Name: Vincent Hall Title: Program director Organization: Walden University Academic or Professional: Academic Why I selected this individual and/or team and how they will support my success in the MSN program and as a practicing nurse: Week 1 Strategies for Addressing Nursing Questions.
Notes: Walden University has become a leader in online nursing education, and that statistic can be attributed to the outstanding leadership provided by the program’s director Vincent Hall. I have chosen Vincent as my connection and fundamental part of my career because of his vast experience and connection in the nursing world. The nursing school faculty leaders play a significant role in shaping their students’ education and careers (Laureate Education, Inc., 2018).
He can guide me with my education and help ensure I am on the right track for y program. During our orientation, he indicated that he would always be available for advice on our education and career, which shows that he is determined to helping students succeed. NETWORK MEMBER 2 Name: Paula Sumner-walker Title: Student success Advisor Organization: Walden University Academic or Professional: Academic Why I selected this individual and/or team and how they will support my success in the MSN program and as a practicing nurse:
Notes: Ms. Paula Sumner-walker is one of the most resourceful academicians I have in the university and program due to her ability to help me develop my educational goals, establish ways to achieve those goals, and monitor my progress by offering academic guidance and coaching. I have chosen her as a fundamental part of my education and career because she is an academic coordinator. Week 1 Strategies for Addressing Nursing Questions.
She will guide me through education for things such as the needed course to take for my program and practice-related issues. This education, experience, and connection can make any individual a focal part of their students’ education and career (Wofford, 2018). NETWORK MEMBER 3 Name National Black Nurses Association members. Title: NBNA members Organization: National Black Nurses Association Academic or Professional: Professional Why I selected this individual and/or team and how they will support my success in the MSN program and as a practicing nurse: Week 1 Strategies for Addressing Nursing Questions.
Notes: The National Black Nurses Association is a professional organization that connects more than 200000 African American registered nurses, nursing students, vocational nurses, and retired nurses from the Caribbean, Africa, and the USA. Through its many chapters, the association provides healthcare services to African American communities in the areas of its jurisdiction. I am confident that as a member of this group, the organization and its member shall help me in many ways to advance my education and practice as a nurse even after my graduation. Week 1 Strategies for Addressing Nursing Questions.
The association has the mandate of providing leadership to improve African Americans’ health and advancement of nursing practice (National Black Nurses Association, Inc., 2021). I believe that the mentors in this organization will help me settle as a nursing student. Even after school, they will help advance my career by presenting me with job opportunities and an opportunity to practice nursing. Week 1 Strategies for Addressing Nursing Questions.
The conferences, social media platforms, and emails are critical in providing me with essential information on nursing and connecting me to the right people to help me advance my career (Van Iersel et al., 2016). Many fellow group members support the association’s capacity to help nurses.
NETWORK MEMBER 4 Name: Oluwatobi Oshoba Title: Registered Nurse Organization: Psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner Academic or Professional: Professional Why I selected this individual and/or team and how they will support my success in the MSN program and as a practicing nurse: Notes: Oluwatobi Oshoba, or Tobi has been a great family friend for a long time now, and I can say that she played a significant role as one of the encouraging forces that gave me drive to study nursing. When I was young, I admired her passion for nursing and helping sick people recover from their illnesses which she used to explain with a lot of emotions. Week 1 Strategies for Addressing Nursing Questions. Week 1 Strategies for Addressing Nursing Questions.
Throughout my nursing education, she has been an integral individual who has been advising me and guiding me in many ways. She has also been my counselor throughout and the go-to person whenever subjects or projects seemed tricky. This aspect makes her a critical individual in my education and career (Schmidt, n.d). I believe she will support me with guidance in my preparation to also become a Psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner through counseling and connection to different health organizations.
